Damian's Story

My journey into motherhood began with fervent prayers, unwavering faith, and the deep desire God placed on my heart to become a mother. Like many families facing infertility, I turned to IVF holding onto hope and trusting that God was walking beside me through every injection, every appointment, and every tear‑filled prayer. When I received the news of a positive pregnancy, I praised God for what felt like a long‑awaited miracle.

IVF pregnancies are often considered high risk, and from the very beginning I covered my son in prayer. I asked God daily for strength, protection, and peace, believing in His promise. Yet even in faith, life can bring unimaginable loss. Shortly after birth, God called my precious son, Damian J. Adderly, home. The joy I had dreamed of was suddenly met with a pain so deep it took my breath away. No words can fully express the heartache of holding your child while knowing you must soon let them go.

As a grieving mother, my heart was forever changed. The silence left behind is something I carry with me every day. Damian’s angelversary on April 22nd is especially sacred to me. It is a day of remembrance, reflection, and love. Though grief walks with me, so does gratitude. I am grateful for every moment I carried him, every heartbeat I felt, and every lesson his life continues to teach me.

In the midst of my sorrow, God gave me purpose. The Damian J. Adderly Foundation was born out of deep love and obedience to God’s calling on my life. Through this foundation, I honor my son by helping other families who are walking their own IVF journeys. Supporting these families is my way of celebrating Damian’s life and allowing his light to continue shining through service, compassion, and faith.

Though my son lives in heaven, his story lives on earth. Through every family we help, every prayer we share, and every step taken in faith, Damian’s legacy continues. I may not be able to hold him here, but I carry him in my heart, trusting that one day we will be reunited in God’s perfect time.
